Hi, I’m Ayla, the maker behind Ruya Creations.
I started this business with a passion for sailing and love of sewing. I have always valued good craftsmanship. Working from my home studio, I personally design and sew each piece, ensuring quality and attention to detail.
You can find my bags at local markets and select stores, and I’m always exploring new ways to make sustainable fashion both stylish and practical.
Where it all began
Rüya—the Turkish word for “dream”—is the name of our sailboat and the perfect symbol for this journey. I learned to work with the materials by making a full enclosure and sail cover for Ruya. Using the leftover materials from that project, I made some bags.
Over the years, I’ve recycled more than 50 sails, transforming them into unique, high-quality bags. What started as a passion project has grown into a thriving small business, and I’m excited for everything this year has in store!
